The form adapts to the connector: host and port for databases, account details for cloud warehouses, a file picker for uploads. Most connectors need only a read-only user.

    Live SQL against relational databases, cloud warehouses and analytics engines such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, BigQuery and Databricks. The data stays in your database.

  • Cloud storage

    Browse Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, ADLS Gen2 and Google Cloud Storage, and import a file or a partitioned folder as one dataset.

  • File uploads

    CSV, Excel, SQLite, Parquet and JSON, imported in the background while you keep working.

  • API pulls

    REST APIs and Google Sheets, refreshed on a schedule or by a signed webhook from your own systems.

Refreshes you can audit

API sources refresh hourly, daily or weekly, or when your system calls a signed webhook. Each refresh swaps its tables in one transaction, and the run history records how every run was triggered.

  • Databases and warehouses

    PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift and many more, queried live. Host and port forms fill in each engine’s default port.

  • Files

    Upload CSV, Excel, SQLite, Parquet and JSON. Large files import in the background, and re-uploading a file updates its dataset in place.

  • Cloud storage

    Browse Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, ADLS Gen2 and Google Cloud Storage, and import one file or a whole folder of parts as a single dataset.

  • APIs and spreadsheets

    Pull JSON from REST APIs and every tab of a Google Sheet, refreshed hourly, daily or weekly, or when your system calls a signed webhook.

  • Refresh without half-states

    A refresh stages the new rows and swaps them in a single transaction, so dashboards never see a half-refreshed table. Run history shows recent refreshes and what triggered them.

  • Schema changes, handled

    Sync re-reads tables and columns, reports what was added, changed or dropped, and keeps your descriptions, tags and measures attached.

Secure by default

Credentials are encrypted at rest and never leave the server. Connections use TLS by default, self-signed certificates must be allowed explicitly, and DataSquares only runs read queries against your sources.

  • Secrets are never prefilled when a connection is edited
  • An SFTP source can pin its server’s host key
  • Webhook triggers are signed, time-boxed and accepted once

Know what depends on a source

Before a source is deleted, DataSquares names the data models and saved queries built on it, and nothing is removed until you confirm.

  • Each source page shows its tables, columns and first rows
  • Test a saved connection from its card at any time
  • A refresh that would empty a table is held for your decision

Does our data leave our database?
With a direct-query connection, queries run in your database and the data stays there. Uploaded files, API pulls and imports to the Warehouse are staged in DataSquares so they can be queried.
What access does DataSquares need?
Read access. Give the connection user read-only permissions: DataSquares only runs read queries against your sources. Credentials are encrypted with AES-256 and never leave the server.
What do Preview and Soon mean in the catalog?
Preview connectors are built on the app’s documented API but haven’t yet been proven against a live account, so check their tables before relying on them. Soon means the connector is not available yet. A connector with neither label is ready for production.
How do business apps like Salesforce connect?
Salesforce, HubSpot, Stripe, Shopify, Jira and Google Analytics 4 are pulled by Pipelines. Other JSON APIs connect today through the REST API connector.
How fresh is the data?
Direct-query sources are read when a chart runs. API sources refresh on a schedule or when an upstream system calls their signed webhook. Uploaded files are snapshots until you upload a new version.
