People with view access get a full toolkit, and every change they make stays theirs.

  • Cross-filter

    Click a point to filter the other cards, or switch to exclude. The state lives in the address, so a link reproduces it.

  • Drill down and through

    Step down a model hierarchy, or open a detail dashboard filtered to the value you clicked.

  • Personalize a card

    Change a chart’s type, dimension or measures for yourself. The dashboard itself never changes.

  • Saved views

    Keep filters, drill path, parameters and page as a saved view, and star one as your default view.

  • The rows behind a chart

    Show underlying data opens the rows a chart was built from, filtered the same way and within your row-level security.

  • Comments that keep context

    A comment captures the view you were looking at, and an @mention emails a link that opens it.

  • A precise canvas

    Drag, resize and align cards with smart guides, type exact positions, group and layer cards, and copy formatting from one card to many.

  • Charts grouped by the question

    The Insert palette groups visuals by what you want to show: comparison, trend, composition, distribution, relationship, geography, indicators and data.

  • Quick calculations

    Running total, year to date, year over year, moving average, percent of total and rank on any measure in a chart, with no formula to write.

  • Filters, parameters and drill

    Filter cards, page and card filters, typed parameters, cross-filtering, drill-down along model hierarchies, and drill-through to a detail dashboard.

  • Insights on any card

    Explain a change between periods, flag anomalies, rank key influencers and forecast a trend. These run as statistics, so they work without AI configured.

  • Alert rules on a number

    Set an alert rule on a KPI card and hear by email, in the app or through a webhook when it crosses a threshold. Alert rules run on the server, under the creator’s data permissions.

Themes everyone can read

Start from a built-in theme, including a color-blind-safe palette and two high-contrast themes, or generate one from a brand color. A live contrast check flags text that would be hard to read, and the theme editor won’t save text that falls below a minimum contrast.

  • A workspace default that new dashboards inherit
  • Colors picked from the theme follow it when the theme changes
  • PDF and Excel exports carry the dashboard’s theme

Publish with control

Work in a draft and publish when it’s ready. Each publish saves a version: compare two versions field by field, promote one to the next stage, and restore an older one if you need to.

  • A failing critical data-quality check holds publication
  • Concurrent edits are caught, never silently overwritten
  • Dashboard definitions export as portable, diffable files

Who sees which rows?
Row-level security is defined on the data model and applies beneath every chart, export, drill-down and data preview. It fails closed, and dashboard filters and measures can’t get around it.
Can viewers explore without editing?
Yes. With view access, people can filter, cross-filter, drill, personalize a card for themselves, save views, see the rows behind a chart and comment. Their changes never alter the dashboard.
How do exports work?
Export a dashboard to PDF, PowerPoint or PNG, or a card’s data to CSV. Pages break between cards, never through a chart, and the export waits until every card has loaded. Dashboards can also be emailed on a schedule.
Can we promote dashboards from development to production?
Yes. Publish versions, promote a version to the next stage after reviewing a field-level diff, and restore an earlier version if you need to. Definitions export as files with no data or credentials in them.
Do dashboards work on phones?
Each dashboard has its own phone layout, arranged by hand or stacked in reading order automatically. The Android app opens dashboards with your own access.
