Define terms with their synonyms and link them to the metrics that implement them: the AI answers with your wording. The Assets tab shows who owns what, and what nobody owns yet.

    Workspace admins certify dashboards, data models, sources and metrics. The badge shows who certified the asset and when, wherever it appears.

  • Business glossary

    Terms, definitions and synonyms, linked to the metrics that implement them. The AI answers with your wording, and matching fields show the definition on hover.

  • Owners and domains

    Give every asset an owner and a domain. The Unowned view lists the gaps to close first, and every assignment is recorded in the audit log.

  • Lineage

    Sources, pipelines, warehouse datasets, models, queries, metrics, dashboards, reports and shares in one graph that nobody has to maintain.

  • Impact analysis

    Click any asset to scope the graph to everything that feeds it and everything that breaks if it changes.

  • Masking

    Label a field as PII or confidential and its values are masked in the query engine for everyone but company admins, on every surface, AI included.

Inside Catalog

Certified first

Certification marks the endorsed dashboard, model, source or metric, and search ranks it first. The Metrics hub, the AI and the Android app surface certification too.

  • Only workspace admins can certify
  • Certified badges carry through the lineage graph

Masking that holds

Masking happens in the query engine. Used as a dimension, a labeled field renders as asterisks. Aggregating, filtering or sorting on it is refused with a clear message, so nothing leaks by inference.

  • Dashboards, exports, shares, embeds and AI Chat
  • A masked query has its own cache key, so clear results never reach masked users
  • Raw SQL that touches a labeled column is blocked for non-admins

Lineage that refuses unsafe deletes

The same graph stops a Warehouse dataset from being deleted while anything still references it, and lists every dependent so you can repoint it first.

Is lineage maintained by hand?
No. Every edge is derived from real references each time you open the graph. Dependencies that live outside DataSquares, such as a view inside your own warehouse, are not in it.
How do we mark sensitive fields?
Give a model field a sensitivity label, such as PII, through the model API; there is no editor control for it yet. Labeled values are masked for everyone except company admins.
Who can certify assets?
Workspace admins. Certification is a governance act, separate from authorship: the badge says the asset is endorsed, not who made it.
Does the AI use the glossary?
Yes. Matched definitions go into the AI’s context for each question, so a term like active customer means what your organization defined. Deleting a term takes effect on the next request.
